Ways to tell if there is a problem with the motorcycle clutch

Nov 19, 2022

1. Under the condition that the engine speed remains unchanged, it is obvious that the driving speed is reduced compared with before;

2. Although the engine speed increases during driving, the speed change is not obvious;

3. Support the main bracket, let the rear wheel leave the ground, engage 1st gear, keep the small throttle, slowly press the rear brake pedal, obviously feel that the rear wheel starts to brake, but the engine speed is not significantly reduced;

4. Judge by the color of the oil: when replacing the oil, there is a little gray substance in the black oil, which can be judged to be clutch wear. If the clutch is severely ablated, the oil is in the form of a black-gray mixture;

5. Judge by the smell of oil: the engine emits an abnormal scorch odor after overheating, or the oil has obvious scorch odor when changing the oil.
